Uterine fibroids mostly develop during childbearing years, but they can occur at any age. Hysteroscopic myomectomy may recommended in the case of smaller (submucosal) fibroids that protrude significantly into the uterus. During the procedure, fibroids are accessed and carefully removed using instruments inserted into the uterus through the vagina and cervix.
